Many users did not expect a brand new operating system when Microsoft came across with Windows 11, surprisingly. The reason for this was that Microsoft had announced several times before that it would not release Windows 11. The operating system released by Microsoft, which suddenly returned from its decision, was just as expected, a more developed and painted version of Windows 10. Still, important innovations such as the TPM 2.0 requirement were made on the security side.

However, Windows 11 could not be released with all its previously announced features. One of these innovations that we haven’t had since its release on October 5th was the brand new media player. Microsoft shared a new blog post about the media player where Media Player was completely renewed and showed that we will have it soon.

What does the new Media Player offer?

Microsoft announced that Windows 11’s new media player, Media Player, has been released for all Windows Insider users. While it is not specified when the feature will be released for all users, Microsoft talked about what the new Media Player will offer. One of the biggest innovations Media Player will bring will be the replacement of the Groove Music application.

According to Microsoft’s statement, Media Player will make it easier for you to browse through music, create and play new playlists. Your playlists that you previously created in Groove Music will not disappear when the application is completely uninstalled, but will be transferred to the Media Player as it is.

The new Media Player will display the artist’s image on the screen while playing music. This image will appear on both the full screen Media Player and the mini player. Besides music, Media Player will automatically show all the videos and video files on your computer in your library. The old Windows Media Player will continue to be available under Windows Tools for those who don’t want the new one.
