Mike JC, a Reddit user, 3D printed the mechanism that securely bends the GeForce RTX 4090’s 16-pin ATX 12VHPWR connector for cable management at a 90° angle. He also shared the 3D model of the mechanism produced, so that anyone who wishes can produce and use this apparatus.
How to connect the RTX 4090 power cable?
As you know, there is a recommended case for the cable connections of the GeForce RTX 4090. Accordingly, it is recommended that the 16-pin ATX 12VHPWR cable connected to the card be bent at a minimum distance of 3.5 cm from the connector. Otherwise, cables bent close to the connector may be subject to overheating. As a result of heating, melting or burning can be seen in both the 16 pin adapter and the connector terminals on the card. It is recommended to use new generation ATX 3.0 power supplies in RTX 4090 and high-end cards. The converters that come out of the box may be of poor quality.
