Reddit was one of these platforms. The application, which has millions of users, introduced a service called “Reddit Talk”, similar to Clubhouse, about two years ago. However, the incoming statements revealed that this feature could not give what was desired.
Reddit Talk is shutting down
Reddit, which has more than 500 million visitors per month, announced that it will end its Reddit Talk service. In the statement, it was stated that more work on this issue should be carried out in order to bring voice features to the platform.
Reddit’s cancellation decision introduced a TikTok-like streaming feature the other day. With this move, the company showed that it wanted to focus on videos. The closure of Reddit Talk also showed once again that there is more focus on videos rather than audio features. “Actually, our plan was to keep Talk while working on new features,” the statement said. However, we have made the decision to turn this feature off. In other words, the resources needed to keep Talk alive have increased significantly.”
Reddit Talk will remain active until March 21. Users will be able to download conversations until June 1. However, these conversations must have been created after September 22.
