The popular social media platform Reddit has launched a new “Discovery” tab with site-wide photos and videos to make its mobile app more visually appealing. Reddit shared the first major change to its mobile app in more than two years, with a revamped navigation system that includes Community and Profile menus, apart from the Explore feature.
The new Discover feature on the platform was secretly tested in December before it was rolled out to all users. Targeting a valuation of at least $15 billion for the roof company, Reddit wants to attract more users with the Explore tab.
What is Reddit Discover?
Reddit has 52 million daily active users and users; It is a popular online platform where it gathers in communities or subreddits (known as subreddits) to discuss independent topics such as finance, gardening, and fitness.
The Reddit Discover feature will allow users to browse through photos and videos in subdirectories similar to the ones they’re already part of. For example, users who follow the game sub-directory will be able to see the posts made in sub-directories such as technology, security or social media in the Discover section.
In a blog post on the Reddit update, he said that one in five users joined at least one new subreddit after using the Explore tab. Although the Discover tab is popular among testers, the thought that it was copied from Instagram has turned Reddit communities against each other.
Reddit also announced its new navigation system called Community & Profile Drawer, where people can more easily organize their profiles and see information about the communities they currently enjoy.

For example, Facebook owner Meta Platforms has offered TikTok-like Reels to more than 150 countries. Reddit’s new feature also highlights visual posts rather than text.
