Netflix released its highest-budget movie to date, Red Notice, on November 5. The film, which includes familiar names such as Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, has already broken a record of its platform.
Red Notice became Netflix’s best-selling film. The success of the film, which was the most watched production on the platform on the day of its release, was announced on Twitter by Ryan Reynolds, who played the ‘world’s best trickster’ in the film.
The movie with the biggest opening day on Netflix
Red Notice, about an FBI agent’s pursuit of the world’s best art thief, became the most watched movie on the day it was released on Netflix. However, the ratings of the movie were not as good as the number of views. Currently, the movie has an iMBD rating of 6.5/10 and a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 39%. Apparently, the production itself was disliked, but the cast made it watch.
One of the cast members, Ryan Reynolds, congratulated the success of the film on Twitter. Congratulating the entire team, Reynolds used the following expressions in the post: “Wow, Red Notice was the biggest opening movie on Netflix. Congratulations to the whole team! I can’t wait for Red Notice (Taylor’s Version). ”
Dany Garcia, the producer of Red Notice, pointed out that a sequel or films may come in his statements. Talking about the movie being a ‘franchise’ series, Garcia said, “Our plan was to see how successful the first movie would be.”
