Less than 24 hours left until the start of the Formula 1 Turkish GP, which will be held between 8-9-10 October. As the teams took their place on the track, F1 vehicles with different designs to be used in this race started to be shared on social media accounts.
As you know, Honda supplies the engines of the F1 vehicles of Redbull and AlphaTauri. Honda, which has been with many Formula 1 teams for about 50 years with long breaks, announced that it would withdraw from F1 by 2022. With this season, where we will see Honda engines for the last time in Formula 1 vehicles, the teams wanted to include Japanese motifs in the race to be held in the Turkish GP by making a gesture to Honda, from which their vehicles are powered.
The vehicle that Redbull will use in the Turkish GP:
As a matter of fact, Redbull and AlphaTauri were going to say their goodbyes to Honda at the Japanese GP. After the Japanese GP, which was scheduled for 8-10 October on the calendar, was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, the date of the Turkish GP also changed and the teams decided to say goodbye to the Turkish GP.
Scuderia AlphaTauri’s vehicle:
The team that we saw the most obvious changes in terms of design was Redbull. Redbull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will compete in cars dominated by the red and white colors of the Japanese flag during the Turkish GP. AlphaTauiri, another team of Redbull Racing, did not make a very different change as the vehicle color was already white, but Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda will carry the word “arigato”, which means “thanks” in Turkish, in the spoiler part of their vehicles throughout the race.
