Squid Game: The Challenge, a competition that brings Netflix’s popular series Squid Game to real life, was released on the platform yesterday. In the production, which will be broadcast in a total of 10 episodes until December 6, participants competed in games inspired by Squid Game for a prize of 4.56 million dollars. Of course, there were no injuries or deaths in the program like in the series.

However, a news shared by Deadline today showed that participants in Squid Game: The Challenge were experiencing problems. According to information received, two people are threatening Netflix and the producers with a lawsuit.

Two people say they were injured during the competition

Two players, whose names were not disclosed and represented by a British law firm, made such a threat on the grounds that they were injured. It was also reported that a letter regarding the issue was sent to the production company Studio Lambert.

According to Deadline, the two men claim they suffered hypothermia and nerve damage in the cold conditions of the UK during filming. They add that this happened during the show’s opening game of “Red Light, Green Light.”

The play was shot during a cold season in the United Kingdom at Cardington Studios, a former air base now used as a studio. At that time, Netflix confirmed that three of the 456 players had health problems, but stated that there were no serious problems.

Express Solicitors, the law firm representing the contestants, stated that their clients were trying to remain inactive in the game for long periods of time and were risking their health. The company’s CEO, Daniel Slade, said in his statement: “The contestants thought they were participating in something fun. They didn’t expect to suffer this much. “They faced injuries after being stuck in painful positions in cold weather.”

A statement was also made by Squid Game: The Challenge. A spokesperson stated that no lawsuits have been filed by the contestants yet and that they take their situations seriously. We will see later whether the contestants will actually file a lawsuit and get what they want.
