The Swedish company Candela wants to completely redesign the world of luxury pleasure boats. Candela, who wants to design boats without fossil waste, with noiseless engines and unaffected by waves, introduced its new model, called C8, based on this.

The Candela C8 pleasure boat bears a great resemblance to the boats you might see in the James Bond movies. The Candela C8, which almost glides on the water, thus makes a great progress compared to today’s boats, while at the same time showing a great improvement in terms of speed.

Candela Communications manager Mikael Mahlberg said: “Traditional speedboats are actually some of the most non-energy efficient vehicles on the planet”. “A conventional speedboat uses 15 times more fuel per kilometer than a standard family car,” he said.

Based on this, the company has designed the Candela C8 all-electric. However, designing a powerboat to run all-electric can solve the fossil fuel use problem.

Dragging the hull through the water creates a large amount of frictional force, which means that a lot of power is needed for an electric boat to operate. For this, Candela added a hydrofoil to her electric boat.

While the hydrofoil has the same working principle as the wings of the aircraft, The only difference is that it replaces the air with water. The water coming from the hydrofoil in the Candela C8 lifts the boat up and out of the water, reducing the friction by 80 percent, and as a result, energy consumption is not adversely affected. However, the Candela C8 is able to tour the entire San Francisco Bay after 2 hours of full capacity charging.
