Half-Life took on a different atmosphere with the release of the game Black Mesa a few years ago. This revision was still not enough for some players. At this point, the new ray tracing mode that came into production may add some life to it. After all, no one would expect a classic that came out a long time ago to have extremely good graphics today. Still, Half-Life is getting Ray Tracing mode.
Half-Life: Ray Traced aims to add path-traced lighting to the entire game. First of all, this is a mod, not a novelty offered by Valve. The trailer below reveals what these changes are.
Apart from Half-Life, there is a similar mod for Serious Sam
Half-Life: Ray Traced, the developer of the mod has previously worked on a similar mod for Serious Sam. Now he is working on some mods made for ray tracing in Half-Life. There is no information about the release date of the mod yet. Still, it’s not expected to arrive anytime soon. The developer’s YouTube channel currently has a statement like “these things take time”.
The mod is available on sultim_t’s GitHub page where most other projects are featured. If you want to re-enter Half-Life, Black Mesa is included in Steam as a remastered version of the game. Half-Life: Alyx, on the other hand, is the newest game in the series to benefit greatly from VR.
