The Raspberry Pi Foundation, which has problems in production due to the global chip crisis and the price of some models has risen to double or triple, is trying to find different solutions for its supplier partners. One of them is the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S developer board.
What is Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S?
No official announcement was made by the foundation, but Revolution Pi, which produces industrial control devices, gave the first information. The Raspberry Pi CM 4S developer board is in the same form as the CM 3+ but uses the Cortex-A72 core on the CM4 board. Since the Raspberry Pi CM 3+ could not be supplied, the foundation developed such an alternative.

Dual 100 pin SO-DIMM There are features such as 4 Cortex-A72 cores, 1GB RAM, eMMC memory up to 32GB, HDMI 2.0a, 350Mb Ethernet. This model has also appeared on GitHub before. It is not clear whether it will be offered to the end user as it is currently in OEM style. Due to the chip crisis, it seems that the foundation will develop alternatives exclusively for suppliers for a while.
