Rakuten Group Inc, the company behind Rakuten, one of the leading online shopping platforms, made a statement on Friday. The company announced in the statement that it will launch its own NFT marketplace, offering users digital sports and entertainment collections such as music and anime.
The first NFT event will take place on February 25. An anime and comic book called Ultraman, Kurogane Hiroshi G1 Gekitoshi will also be featured at the event.
Rakuten sells books, fintech, cosmetics, digital content and many other products to its users. The company also offers cashback on purchases made.
