Kirkhorn will leave his post to Taneja, 45. Tenja, who is now Chief Accountant, held various roles at the EV manufacturer before becoming chief accounting officer in 2019. It should be noted that he previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in India and the USA.
Commenting on the subject, Gene Munster, managing partner of Deepwater Asset Management, said, “Spending 13 years at Tesla is equivalent to 50 years working for any company. Keeping Kirkhorn in position until the end of the year is a pretty good move for the transition.” made statements.
Considered one of the top candidates to replace Musk as CEO, Kirkhorn’s departure brought uncertainty about leadership at Tesla. Taneja, who was not among the 16 executives invited to the stage with Musk at the investor meeting in March, was added to the list of CEO candidates.
