US-based solid-state battery manufacturer QuantumScape also shared some details on battery technologies and new initiatives during an event where it announced the first quarter reports of 2022. The company shared that solid-state cells can halve electric vehicle charging times and increase volumetric density by over 50%.
16-layer battery cell in development
Last February, QuantumScape announced that it completed 400 consecutive 15-minute quick charge cycles, regenerating from 10% to 80%, and still maintaining initial ?? He had confirmed that they were working on solid-state batteries that retained over 80%.
The company shared that it has currently developed a 16-layer solid-state battery cell that lasts over 500 charge cycles as a result of its efforts to develop and test multi-layer cells with its latest event. The new solid-state battery cell developed is also the first time the company has showcased its proprietary cell architecture that is flexible enough to support an anode-free format.
Increasing its production capacity by more than 50% compared to the last quarter of last year, QuantumScape thinks it is possible to improve both the power and energy of the battery cells at the same time.

QuantumScape CEO’ su Jagdeep Singh: “We believe progress in our proprietary materials and cell format and production quality improvements this quarter marks a strong start to reach milestones as we continue to work hard to achieve our 2022 target. We look forward to reporting on continued progress on these fronts in the coming quarters.” made statements.
