Qualcomm managed to break the data transfer speed record with the Snapdragon X75 5G Modem-RF System developed for smartphones and tablets. Towards the end of the year, it became clear how fast the modem, which will take its place in commercial devices, can reach.

Qualcomm’s state-of-the-art modem reportedly achieves a massive downlink speed of 7.5 Gbps. Such high speed was achieved using 4 carrier aggregation (CA), 4 TDD channels and 1024 QAM technology. It should also be noted that 300 MHz spectrum is used.

Coming to phones at the end of the year

The new modem was announced at the MWC event in February this year. Let us remind you that it is offered as a continuation of the X70 modem used in the Galaxy S23 series and other high-end models powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Qualcomm has confirmed that phones with Snapdragon X75 will begin launching in the second half of 2023. We will see together how the modem will perform in real world scenarios.
