Although we expect to see high performance on flagship phones with high-end processors, it is sometimes not possible to say the same for lower-priced smartphones. But now Qualcomm promises to bridge this gap between performance and price with the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 3 chipset.
Qualcomm says the new chipset will also improve images taken with affordable smartphones, with features like electronic image stabilization and faster autofocus.
What are the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 features?
Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 will use artificial intelligence to take better photos in low light conditions. The chipset’s Snapdragon X61 5G Modem-RF System will be able to support more networks, frequencies and bandwidths so it can be used in a wider variety of cellular networks. It will also include Qualcomm Wi-Fi 5 hardware for better speeds on Wi-Fi networks.
The first smartphones with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset will go on sale in the second half of 2023. Smartphone manufacturers Redmi and Vivo have already confirmed that they will launch new phones with the new Snapdragon chipset.
Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset for mid-range smartphones in March. We can expect to hear the company’s next-generation flagship chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 later in 2023.
