Qualcomm, one of the first companies that comes to mind when it comes to mobile processors, introduced its flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 last month. This chipset, which came with significant performance improvements, was focused on artificial intelligence. Today, the giant company continues its new generation processor announcements and introduced Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which will be included in slightly lower-end devices.

Although Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is not a chip that appeals to high-end devices like its older brother introduced last month, it is very ambitious. The new processor will be able to bring flagship features to mid-range phones.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 comes with major improvements in AI-powered features and performance

Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 has serious improvements overall compared to previous generations. The processor, produced with the 4 nm process, comes with one main core (2.63 GHz), three performance cores (2.4 Ghz) and four efficiency cores (1.8 GHz).

According to Qualcomm’s statements, the new chipset is much further ahead than Gen 1, introduced in 2022. It is stated that there is a 15% improvement on the CPU side and over 50% performance increase on the GPU. It is stated that power saving is 20% better.

Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which will have artificial intelligence features, offers 60% faster artificial intelligence performance with the help of the Hexagon NPU processor inside. This means that the artificial intelligence capabilities in mid-range Android devices will be much improved. With the new processor, we will see better user experience, advanced camera features, improvements in voice recognition and innovations in power management.

For example, artificial intelligence facial recognition systems will work better in conditions that can be described as “unusual” such as low lights and glasses. It is stated that there will be no problems in situations such as the use of masks. According to Qualcomm, there is a 15% increase in the performance of facial recognition.

Apart from these, the new processor also includes features such as spatial sound, many innovations from color controls to focus in cameras, Snapdragon X63 5G modem, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, 4K 60Hz and FHD + 168Hz support. Let’s not forget to add up to 200 MP shooting and 4K HDR videos.

The first devices with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, which are expected to be used mostly by HONOR and vivo, are expected to be introduced this month.
