Qualcomm, one of the leading names in the market when it comes to smartphone chipsets, introduced the S3 Gen 2 audio platform. As we mentioned above, especially focused on gamers, the S3 Gen 2 combines Snapdragon Sound and LE Audio for less than 20ms latency, including in-game chat. In addition, Qualcomm has announced that the platform will support the latest LE Audio Auracast broadcast features on televisions, phones, laptops, PCs, consoles and a wide variety of other audio equipment.
When it comes to the music experience, the S3 Gen 2 will offer 24-bit 96 kHz wireless audio streaming using Snapdragon Sound and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive audio technology. Thus, Qualcomm states that all the details in the songs will be heard exactly as the artist wanted them to be heard.It should be noted that 32kHz super broadband support is offered for voice calls. In addition to all these, the new platform will showcase the 3rd generation Qualcomm Hybrid Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature. There’s also an Adaptive Transparency mode that allows for smooth transitions between noise cancellation and ambient sound for situational awareness.
Qualcomm did not mention which devices the S3 Gen 2 will accompany as part of the new announcement. However, we think that all this information will be shared in the coming days.
