Qualcomm recently introduced its latest mobile chipset, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. This new chipset is a new version of Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 and brings with it some new features. It has long been known that Qualcomm chips were about to move towards on-device artificial intelligence (AI) integration, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is no exception.

This chip appears to have been designed with artificial intelligence in mind in almost every aspect. Qualcomm states that the components “offer comprehensive advances in activating artificial intelligence on the device.” This will significantly speed up productive AI applications, with benchmarks showing that only one second is required to create Stable Diffusion images from a text prompt.

Of course, while AI features are heavily emphasized by the marketing, this mobile CPU isn’t just AI, and the 7 Gen 3 looks pretty powerful. The new chipset also features CPU speeds that top out at 2.63 GHz, a 50 percent increase in GPU performance compared to the previous generation, and “incredible power efficiency” that will ease the strain on your phone’s battery. Qualcomm also says Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will help pave the way for “extraordinary camera capabilities” and enable greater 5G integration.

However, it should not be forgotten that the phones in which they are used to benefit from the power of mobile chipsets are also very important. That’s why Qualcomm announced partnerships with OEMs such as Honor and Vive. The company stated that an announcement will be made later this month to officially announce the first smartphone using Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
