Qualcomm, one of the world’s largest mobile semiconductor manufacturers, announced a new technology called “Snapdragon Elite Gaming” a few years ago. The technology, which has been in flagship processors for a while, has focused on taking the mobile gaming experience to the next level. The company today officially unveiled its latest Snapdragon Elite Gaming feature, Snapdragon Game Super Resolution (GSR).
The new feature announced by Qualcomm really brings a new era to the mobile gaming experience. Because when this feature is activated, games opened on smartphones will offer unprecedented image quality. The company states that the image quality reached from mobile will compete with PCs. Moreover, GSR will reduce battery usage while increasing the quality so much.
Offering 1080p resolution, the game can be played like 4K!
Game Super Resolution, which has a different structure from the usual resolution enhancement technologies, brings the image quality to a unique level. According to Qualcomm’s statement, with this new feature, a game in 1080p resolution can be played in 4K image quality. In addition, any game set to 30 fps can be played at 60+ fps with GSR.
Qualcomm has made a special optimization for Adreno GPUs for its GSR technology. In the statements made by the company, it was stated that GSR is twice as good as other image quality enhancement techniques on the market. Saying that it reduces the load on Adreno GPUs when the mobile game is opened, Qualcomm states that it increases data processing speed while reducing power consumption. The company is so confident in the technology it develops that senior Qualcomm executive Dave Durnil said: “Power savings will be the most important thing a consumer will see.” used the phrases.
Work has begun for games with Game Super Resolution support!
In the statements made by Qualcomm, it was stated that GSR-supported mobile games will be released by the end of this year. Maybe it doesn’t look like you have to wait that long. Because there are already teams working on GSR supported games. In the scrollable image above, you can see how Farming Simulator 23 Mobile, which originally offered 17fps, looks like when boosted to 30fps with GSR.
It’s not just Farming Simulator 23 Mobile. GSR integration work continues for Naraka Mobile, Justice Mobile, Return to Empire Jade Dynasty: New Fantasy and even Call of Duty Warzone Mobile.
