Cats are one of the animal species that people are most curious about and interested in. From the little ones in our homes to the ruthless predators in the wild, cats can be said to have a huge impact on humans. For this reason, four puma cubs found under a picnic table in Thousand Oaks, California, also made a big noise.

Cougars, whose adult members can reach 90 cm in length, 2.75 meters in length and 120 kg in weight, generally prefer to live away from people and alone. Although cases where cougars attack humans are rare, with the increase in urbanization, the natural habitats of animals are also restricted. For this reason, cougars can be found more frequently in areas close to the city. This is exactly what happened in the Thousand Oaks area.

Four puppies were found under the picnic table:

The puppies, which an office worker noticed on November 29, are estimated to be around six weeks old. Wildlife conservation teams have advised that the puppies’ mother may be nearby and that the worker should not intervene. The next day, however, the cubs were seen moving even closer to the office. Teams then attached small ‘follower collars’ to the pups.

Checking to see if their mothers had come back at night, the teams soon determined that the mother may have died or abandoned her cubs. When rechecked on December 2, two puppies were found dead. The two surviving puma pups were cared for by veterinarians in the Orange Country area. It was shared that the puppies will be temporarily cared for at the Orange County Zoo until a permanent habitat is found.
