The Touryst, which was introduced to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC players in 2019, was finally released for PS4 and PS5 players.
The game, which is currently on sale at the PlayStation Store with a price tag of 189 TL, has gone down in history as the first 8K resolution and 60 FPS supported game of PS5 and console history.
The first 8K game in PS5 history runs in 4K resolution
An action-adventure and puzzle game, The Touryst was developed by Shin’en Multimedia and received very positive reviews on its release. The production, which draws attention with its animation quality graphics and retro gameplay, was selected as one of the five most popular games of Nintendo Swith in 2019.
After 2 years, The Touryst, which was redesigned for the PlayStation platform, was presented to PS4 and PS5 players. One of the things that makes the game special is that it is the first and only production in console history to support 8K resolution. Although the game is designed to run at 8K resolution and 60 FPS, Sony does not yet allow this feature for PS5. As you can see on the PS5’s box, it was said that the console would normally support 8K resolution.
Although The Touryst works as 8K/60 FPS, the current system version of PS5 brings the game downscale 8K resolution to 4K. Although the console has HDMI 2.1 hardware that can handle 8K resolution at 60 FPS, Sony keeps this feature locked for now. In summary, the game, designed by the producer as 8K, is experienced as 4K by PS5 users.
