Rumors have surfaced that Sony is working on a new portable gaming device under the codename “Q Lite”. It is stated that this handheld console, which is stated to have a PS Vita-style design, will use Remote Play to connect to the games on PS5.
PS5 games can be played with Sony Q Lite
The PSP, which is a standalone handheld console, does not seem to return for a while. Developed by the Japanese technology giant, the new Q Lite will only provide access to your PS5 library through the Remote Play feature. This means that the device cannot be used without the PS5 and an internet connection.
Sony’s cloud gaming service Remote Play isn’t actually a new feature. It is possible to connect to PS4 and PS5 consoles via Windows PC, Mac, Android, iOS and even Raspberry Pi. However, Sony is looking to expand the use of Remote Play with its new portable gaming device.
It is said that the Q Lite will feature an 8-inch touchscreen as a design. Also, similar to DualSense, there will be controllers on both sides of the console. In addition, it was stated that the device will support adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
Although it will allow access to the PS5 library, it should be reminded that Q Lite cannot be used alone. Therefore, it is said to be ambitious on the price side to compete with other portable consoles such as Logitech G Cloud and Steam Deck.
