Romanian prosecutors have requested the confiscation of 21 BTC of Andrew Tate as part of the rape charge.

Romania’s Organized Crime and Terrorism Investigation Directorate announced on Tuesday (June 20th) that Tate has been charged with rape and human trafficking. The announcement also brought to light the latest developments in the case, which came to the fore with Tate’s arrest late last year. According to the announcement, Romanian prosecutors sought to confiscate Andrew Tate’s 15 properties, 15 luxury cars, 14 watches and 21 Bitcoins worth $560,000.

Andrew Tate and Three Others Face Same Charges

Andrew Tate, a social media phenomenon known for his misogynistic rhetoric, was arrested in December and sentenced to house arrest in Romania while DIICOT investigated allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault.

According to the indictment, Tate, his brother Tristan Tate, and both of his partners are facing the same charges. According to the BBC’s report, the indictment includes the names of seven victims who were recruited using the method of using promises of love and marriage to induce women to sex work. In a statement to Insider, a spokesperson for DIICOT confirmed that Tate’s assets sought to be confiscated by DIICOT include just over 21 Bitcoins, currently valued at $562,050.

The BBC reported that the trial is expected to take several years and the Romanian judge has 60 days to see all the evidence.

“We embrace this opportunity presented to prove their innocence,” Tate’s spokesperson told the BBC.
