In a number of models of Lamborghini Countach, especially in the 25th anniversary version of the 25th anniversary, the reasons for the addition of the front wings were to provide harmony with both aerodynamic requirements and legal arrangements.

The front and art -poultry design of this car turned into a different story in which the need to harmonize US regulations and the difficulties of design.

One of Countach’s most remarkable features is great art.

This wing was seen as a module that completed the strong and aggressive appearance of the car, but it did not contribute much in terms of performance. On the contrary, it creates high air resistance and caused the front side to remain light while pressing the ground. Besides, it limited the driver’s view of art, which made it difficult to park and move.

At the same time, Countach’s nose was quite low.

This kind of low nose did not comply with the security regulations of the US Highway Transportation Department (DOT). In order to meet reasonable safety standards in the USA, the front bumpers and headlights should have a height.

However, due to Countach’s aerodynamic structure, it was not easy to fulfill these rules. Lamborghini engineers had to find a way to solve this problem both by maintaining the design of the vehicle and by providing harmony with legal arrangements.

They found the solution to add wings forward.

Horacio Pagani’s design group, the 25th anniversary version of the vehicle added small wings (Canard) to the front of the vehicle.

These wings not only made the front of the vehicle more stable only at a high speed, but also complied with the regulations in the US by increasing the height of the front.

Although they seemed to be a small detail, they have become a characteristic module of Countach’s latest version.

In other words, the front wings were a design to meet both aerodynamic balance and to meet legal requirements. Lamborghini Countach was able to maintain its iconic and aggressive appearance while continuing to sell in valuable markets to the USA.
