According to Pyle, this could be due to the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol, which is by far the most likely scenario. However, it is confusing to observe the same performance loss even when copying local files on the computer itself. The company has not yet found the exact cause of the problem at this time.
Although the Microsoft representative could not give an exact date for a permanent fix, he offered a workaround that can be used for now. Pyle advised users to use the robocopy or xcopy commands with the /J parameter to copy files.
