The “Game Ready” driver update (531.18) recently shared by Nvidia brought brand new features such as RTX Video Super Resolution. However, after a week passed, an interesting driver-related problem emerged. Users say that new drivers cause a spike in CPU load.

A new issue has been discovered in Nvidia drivers

Reportedly, the new problem discovered causes a massive increase in processor usage. In this context, many users on Reddit and Nvidia forums reported that after certain games, the “Nvidia Container” application causes a CPU consumption that can exceed 15 percent.

To find out if you are affected by this issue, simply use the Windows Task Manager and check the processes tab. You can verify the issue by browsing CPU resource usage from here.

After escalating complaints, Nvidia confirmed the existence of a driver-related issue. Thus, we can say that a new fix or driver update will be shared shortly. However, there are different solutions for users who do not want to wait for the fix. Simply forcing the application to close or reverting to the 528.49 WHQL driver also fixes the problem.
