The competition in the graphics card market has accelerated with the new generation architectures of both AMD and Nvidia. As of now, both brands are preparing to launch mid and mid-range graphics cards. At this point, Nvidia can sign a new discount for existing old-generation graphics cards.

New discounts expected on GTX 16 and RTX 30 series

According to APAC-based analysts, Nvidia manufacturing partners have reduced excess inventory on legacy GPUs such as the GTX 1660, GTX 1660 Ti, GTX 1660 SUPER and RTX 2060. However, it is stated that some partners already have GeForce GTX 16 and RTX 30 inventory. Shared reports, on the other hand, show that prices for demand problems in the market will decrease by a small margin.

Other sources close to the industry say the planned discounts will be around $10. The models that will benefit most from this cut will be the GTX 1650 and GTX 1630. It is not known which cards will be included in the RTX 30 Ampere series. But these can be high-end models. As a matter of fact, Nvidia recently signed a GDDR6X memory upgrade on the RTX 3060, GA104 and GA106 GPUs in an effort to reduce overstock.

In addition, we can say that the new report clarifies the long wait for the RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 models. It looks like Nvidia will continue to struggle with overstocking for a while.
