President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has pledged to implement tax policies and financing programs that are friendly to the tech sector as the elections approach.
Macron wants to make the country a “start-up nation” friendly to new technologies, appealing to talent and capital.
Macron spoke positively about Web 3.0 and the metaverse, arguing that regulation led by public authorities is necessary to ensure the long-term success of the industry.
Proud of the exit of Ledger and Sorare from France, Macron plans to increase Europe’s competitiveness in the metaverse by gaining technological independence from US and Chinese companies. The President also said that France would welcome the idea of establishing “a dematerialized museum of French history through digital histography”.
Expressing that France has numerous talents working in the metaverse and blockchain sector, Macron emphasized that they are also a very important force in digital games.
Macron argued that the crypto industry cannot continue on its own and therefore needs to be regulated.
