Prepare for DeepMind’s Sparrow: Google’s competitor to ChatGPT

DeepMind, one of the Google companies, has announced that it may soon launch a ChatGPT competitor. It is claimed that this chatbot will be a more secure AI assistant than ChatGPT.

DeepMind has pioneered artificial intelligence research for the past ten years. The company was acquired by Google nine years ago. DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis announced in a statement that the interest in ChatGPT will end soon because Google will launch its own chatbot, called Sparrow. Sparrow is targeted to start beta testing in 2023.

  • The most popular topic of recent days: What is ChatGPT? How to use ChatGPT?

Despite some doubts about the potential dangers of chatbots due to containing “false or invented information”, DeepMind’s development of Sparrow is intriguing. Considering DeepMind’s close relationship with Google, we can safely say that Sparrow could become an effective competitor to ChatGPT.

From DeepMind’s research paper it appears that Sparrow will initially be more restrained and conservative than ChatGPT. ChatGPT has gone viral for its impressive ability to help anyone from coders to “armchair poets”, but its capacity for discriminatory commenting and malware writing skills are also intimidating.
