A new regulation of the Ministry of National Education has been published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette. This regulation brought some new obligations to pre-school education institutions and primary schools. So what’s in this regulation? What changes occurred in the first places where young children started their education?

When we look at the Regulation on the Amendment of the Ministry of National Education’s Pre-School Education and Primary Education Institutions Regulation No. 29072, we see that no money can be received for pre-school education in official pre-school education institutions. And it’s not just for registration. The money collected for the needs of the institution and the students, also known as “aidat”, will no longer be taken. In parallel, the subscription accounts of the institutions will be closed and the balance here will be transferred to the school-parent union account.

The teachers and auxiliary staff who take care of the nutrition of the children will not pay for the food!

Teachers and auxiliary staff who are responsible for children’s feeding times in pre-school education institutions will not have to pay for their own meals. Moreover; other employees of the school will also be able to benefit from the institution’s food services by paying weekly or monthly.

The last change in the regulation is about the continuity of the students. According to this; Parents of a child who does not attend the preschool education and primary education program for 5 days without giving any reason will be informed via text message or e-mail. The school directorate will inform the child’s parent in writing if the absence period reaches 10 days.

You can find the regulation in the Official Gazette here.
