The demand for electric cars continues to increase day by day. Many automobile companies have announced that they will not produce cars with internal combustion engines, especially due to the prohibitions and incentives imposed by the states.

Porsche is one of them. The company attaches importance to electric cars and works in this field. Porsche Taycan is loved for its fast charging features and performance. Porsche Taycan broke the Guinness World Record thanks to its battery technology.

Porsche Taycan broke the world record with short charging time!

Electric cars are not preferred by many users due to their long charging times. Porsche, which wants to make a change in this regard, offers a very short charging time with the new Taycan. Thanks to this time, the 2021 model Porsche Taycan traveled from one end of America to the other with a charging time of 2 hours, 26 minutes and 48 seconds and broke the world record.

The vehicle traveled 2,834.5 miles from Los Angeles to New York. Wayne Gerdes was in the driver’s seat on this long journey. “Hypermiling” was done while driving. Hypermiling means driving aggressively to maximize a vehicle’s fuel consumption.

In order to break the world record, the vehicle was constantly monitored by camera and tracked via GPS. Before the Taycan, the Kia EV 6 held the record with a charging time of 7 hours 10 minutes and 1 second. According to the statements made, the vehicle reached 82 percent charge from 6 percent charge in 22 minutes on a 350KW charger. This time is about half when we compare it with its competitors.

Performance Battery Plus battery with a higher gross capacity than the standard battery and Adaptive Cruise Control feature are offered in this vehicle. In this way, the vehicle is ready for the record attempt. So, what are your thoughts? Do you think Porsche’s fast battery charging technology can increase the number of electric cars?
