German auto giant Porsche took the stage as part of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The company, which appeared with a special car called “911 Dakar” during the events, has created a car with features that will be talked about a lot.
There is not much we can say about the design of the vehicle. Because this car has the same appearance as other 911 models. In this context; The lightings in the front and rear of the vehicle are exactly the same as in other models. And of course, the three-door structure is the same as the other models. So what’s different if the design is the same?
Introducing the Porsche 911 Dakar
What sets this car apart from others is its technical features. The suspension used in the Porsche 911 Dakar makes this vehicle 50 millimeters higher than other 911s. The adjustable suspension provides an extra 30 millimeters of height if needed. Moreover, high mode can be used even when traveling at 170 km / h. When higher speeds are reached, the suspensions lower automatically.
The Porsche 911 Dakar is powered by a 3.0-liter engine with 473 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque. This powerful engine enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. The maximum speed of the car was announced as 240 km / h. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 911 Dakar is more than suitable for terrain with its four-wheel drive structure.
Porsche’s special production 911 model has two special driving modes. One of them is called Land and the other is called Rally. The 911 Dakar, which reaches its maximum height when it is placed in off-road mode, offers the best possible performance on soft ground such as sand. Rally mode, as the name suggests, is used in activities such as rally and optimizes the vehicle.
One of the striking features of the Porsche 911 Dakar is that it can be fitted with a roof rack. Vehicle owners will be able to carry equipment with a total weight not exceeding 42 kilograms, such as fuel, spare tire, tow rope and shovel, in this optional roof rack. Let’s also mention that the roof rack allows 12 volt power output.
According to the statement made by Porsche, only 2,500 units of the 911 Dakar will be produced. A consumer who wants to buy the vehicle will have to sacrifice a payment starting from 223 thousand 450 dollars. Porsche will sell this special edition 911 in 2023.
