Polygon Labs has partnered with Unstoppable Domains to launch top-level domains.
Users of the Polygon ecosystem will be able to create .polygon Web3 domains through a partnership with Unstoppable Domains. The partnership will allow users to log into Web3 applications, use readable wallet addresses and create decentralized websites.
Transactions Will Become Easier With New Domain Names
Launched as a result of the partnership, this service will be available to an estimated 180 million users and 40,000 services across the Polygon blockchain ecosystem. More than 2.7 million domain names have been registered on the Polygon blockchain network to date.
Users will be able to use their .polygon domains to create compatible digital identities across 750 apps, games and metaverse platforms.
Unstoppable Domains also allows users to create profiles that can be linked to social media channels and act as digital identity across Web3 platforms and networks.
In the statement made by Sanket Shah, Vice President of Business Development at Polygon Labs, the importance of the user’s digital identity was emphasized. “Web3 domains will give our community a wholly owned digital identity,” Shah said in a statement. Thus, users will be able to log into dApps without providing their personal information and perform crypto transactions without long wallet addresses.”
Unstoppable Domains will also offer access to premium .polygon gaming and digit domains starting March 16. Decentralized domain name services such as Unstoppable Domains and Ethereum Name Service (ENS) have become popular over the past year.
