The championship fight of the American Football League (NFL), one of the largest sports organizations in the USA, was held last night. During the Super Bowl, viewers were shown an interesting advertisement about the new Polestar 2 electric car. Before going into details, let’s remind you that Polestar is a company under the roof of Volvo.
The 30-second ad, titled No Compromises, contained harsh references to leading automakers like Tesla and Volkswagen. In fact, with this campaign, the company wanted to effectively reveal the concepts that Polestar 2 is “far away”.
Reference to the emissions scandal
The commercial contains extremely striking statements such as epic no voiceover, no empty promises and no hidden agenda. We also see Tesla CEO Elon Musk referencing his passion to conquer the Red Planet with the message “No conquering Mars”. The phrase “no dirty secrets” brings to mind the allegations of systemic racism at Tesla’s Fremont factory.
Polestar’s Super Bowl ad, which reached millions, does not neglect to refer to Volkswagen’s biggest scandal in recent years. The ad, which touched the emissions fraud scandal of the German company with “No Dieselgate”, shows the 100% electric Polestar 2 sedan in the last frame.
