Mini teamed up with Pokémon to develop an all-electric, Pikachu-themed concept car. During the Gamescom Opening Night, the automaker showcased the car that allows you to connect your game console and project your game onto the dashboard of the vehicle.
For this collaboration, Mini used the Aceman concept, which it announced earlier in July. With the ‘Pokémon mode’ that comes with this special vehicle, Pikachu shoots digital lightning bolts across the entire dashboard as the vehicle opens.
You can watch Mini’s concept car in the video below:
The cool thing about this concept is that once you connect your game console to the car, you can use the vehicle’s exterior projector to view your game on any surface parked in front of your car. For this, the environment must be dark enough and the car must be parked in front of a flat wall.
Mini hasn’t given any details on what types of game consoles the car will support, or how adding a controller might work. After all, it’s just a concept for now, but it’s still pretty impressive that Mini has managed to actually incorporate this feature into the vehicle.
