Xiaomi sub-brand POCO expands M series. The POCO M3 model was officially introduced in November 2020, and the M3 Pro was officially introduced in May 2021. The company had brought both products to Turkey through contracted sales channels. The first information about the new smartphone called ‘POCO M4 Pro 5G’ has started to come.
We often witness that smartphones are leaked before they are introduced. Approval documents and screenshots, usually issued by foreign institutions such as TENAA, FCC, are shared online. But now an unusual situation has occurred. POCO M4 Pro 5G appeared on the IMEI inquiry page on the e-Government Gateway.
Certificate application filed for POCO M4 Pro 5G
The screenshots shared by Twitter user Kacper Skrzypek contain limited information about the POCO M4 Pro 5G model. It has been confirmed by the e-Government that the smartphone, whose manufacturer appears to be ‘Xiaomi Communications Co Ltd’, will be named ‘M4 Pro 5G’. It remains unclear whether the device will have the flat model in addition to the Pro. However, at least the existence of the M4 series has been confirmed once again.
The M4 Pro 5G with model number 21091116AG will support 33W fast charging, according to the information revealed. Xiaomi will use the processor preference for the MediaTek Dimensity series, not Qualcomm. On the other hand, it is stated that the smartphone, which is expected to be released with a battery capacity of 5000 mAh, will have a minimum of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. On the software side, it is said to come with the Android 12-based MIUI 12.5 user interface.
As a reminder, the POCO M3 Pro 5G had a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with 1080 x 2400 pixels. The screen refresh rate was 90Hz, while the pixel density was 405 PPI. Although the known details about the POCO M4 Pro 5G are limited to the processor and storage unit for now, we can predict what kind of phone we will encounter based on the M3 Pro 5G.
It is highly likely that the POCO M4 Pro 5G will have a screen refresh rate of at least 90Hz. Finally, since it appeals to ‘Pro’ users, no reduction in screen resolution is expected. The general expectation of users is for the OLED screen. However, POCO, which uses IPS LCD to save costs in the M3 Pro 5G, is not unlikely to continue the same strategy on the new phone.
