Sony acquires Valkyrie Entertainment for PlayStation Studios. PlayStation Studios president Hermen Hulst shared this information on Friday. Valkrie Entertainment is located in Seattle, Washington. The studio has previously acted as a support studio on games like State of Decay 2, God of War 2018, Valorant, and Halo Infinite.
Valkyrie Entertainment is currently working to support Sony Santa Monica’s upcoming God of War Ragnarok production.
Valkyrie Entertainment continues its support role
Hulst said in a post on Twitter that Valkyrie Entertainment will continue its support role. In addition, he shows that he will help other teams develop games for PS5 and PC instead of leading development.
New games are on the way in addition to God of War Ragnarok
In addition to God of War Ragnarok, Sony has first-party titles scheduled for release in 2022, including Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7. This marks Sony’s fifth acquisition to develop PlayStation Studios in 2021. The company also acquired Housemarque, Firesprite, Nixxes Software and Bluepoint Games.
