Sony did one of the silent releases it always does. The company, which has not officially announced its news before, has changed the models of PlayStation 5s. Many gamers were complaining about the weight and size of their PS5 cases.
Sony’s thinner and lighter PlayStation 5 models have finally arrived. According to the information that has come to light, both the digital and disc versions of PlayStation 5 are now much lighter. Let’s take a look at the details together.
PlayStation 5s now 600 grams lighter but more expensive
Revealing in Australia this week, the new PlayStation 5 models are 300 grams lighter (i.e. 3.9 kg) than the original model, which weighed 4.5 kg and 300 grams from the 4.2kg PS5 revised in 2021. In the digital version of the PS5, a weight close to these ratios has been reduced.
The revised new digital version of the PS5 is also 500 grams lighter (3.4 kg) than the original 3.9 kg version. So currently the revised disc PS5 model weighs the same as the original digital PS5 model. There was no change in the appearance of the revised PlayStation 5s.
