After introducing the PlayStation models, Sony neglects to update the game console over the years. This situation did not change in the PlayStation 5 model. Released in 2020, PlayStation 5 has hosted many software updates as well as hardware updates in the past. The last update of the game console is for the sound system.
PlayStation 5 gets Dolby Atmos support
With the update expected to be released soon, PlayStation 5 will bring Dolby Atmos support to users. Users with a supporting speaker system will be able to output 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby Atmos audio with the next-generation PS5.
PS5 owners with this type of setup will be able to get even better sound from their system thanks to an upcoming update. The update, which is currently in beta, will also add Dolby Atmos to 3D Audio powered by Tempest 3D AudioTech technology.
The company, which previously offered this feature for compatible headphones, is now spreading the sound system to the speakers, which will make the games much more fun. Thus, PS5 owners will be able to enjoy 3D sound at the same time while playing games.
Sony has made Dolby Atmos audio available to beta users as of July 31. A clear date has not been given for the general release of this new update. However, beta versions are generally available for general use after about 1 month.
Sony, on the other hand, is preparing for an important hardware update for the PlayStation 5 model. In this sense, the company aims to develop the new generation PlayStation 5, which it plans to launch in 2024, in every sense. Sony, which will equip the game console with a new and more efficient processor that goes through the 5 nm production process, is also reconsidering the cooling system of the new PS5 model.
The Japanese manufacturer aims to maintain the PS5 model’s claim in the game console market with its updates. So what do you think about PS5 and the new update? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
