Pixel Watch 3 at the end of the expected approval for pulse loss detection

Google introduced the new smart watch Pixel Watch 3 with the Pixel 9 series last autumn. Although the design is similar to the previous models, the mainly attracted innovation was “pulse loss detection”. This feature, which can give warning in emergencies by detecting the stop of the heart, was waiting for the legal approval process that Google must commission for users in the United States. Finally, with the FDA approval, this critical feature has become activated in the USA.

Nowadays, many smart watches can follow health, but this new technology offered by Google can go one step further and perceive the heart stop directly. Devices such as Apple Watch and Pixel Watch offer an early intervention to heart diseases with irregular heartbeat or atrial fibrillation (AFIB).

Google provides this feature with the sensors currently on an hour without using additional hardware. The multi -faceted heart rate sensor, which performs the pulse measurement once per second, automatically locks the screen by detecting the user’s watch. However, Google can carry this data one step further and determine the loss of pulse even though the watch is not removed. Body temperature and verification with motion sensors are prevented by wrong alarms.

Every second is important in emergencies such as heart stopping. Pixel Watch 3 can play a life -saving role in these critical minutes. Pulse loss detection, overdose, sudden heart disorders, or other medical emergencies to take action to allow the user to get help. Google says it analyzes hundreds of thousands of hours of data while developing the feature and minimizes the wrong alarms. Although the FDA approval does not mean that the feature is perfect, it was found to be reliable enough to access users.

This technology was first introduced in certain countries in Europe. The active feature in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom has become available in a total of 15 countries with the addition of the USA. Google continues to work to commission the feature in more countries.

To prove the accuracy of this innovation, Google Research has published an article in Nature, a prestigious science magazine. While the role of smart watches in the field of health is increasingly expanding, this feature offered by Pixel Watch 3 stands out as a technology that can save lives in critical moments.
