Honda seems very excited to introduce the next generation Civic Type R. The 11th generation Type R of the Japanese automaker giant, which showed its performance-oriented hatchback at the Nürburgring at the beginning of October, was caught in action by the Youtube channel CarSpyMedia.
Two different prototypes were tested at the Nürburgring, one in red and the other in white camouflage. The sounds of the vehicles are very striking.
The new Civic Type R will be introduced within the next year
Just like the new Honda Civic, the 2022 model Civic Type R has a more streamlined style compared to the old model. The front of the Type R, which seems to be even wider with the fenders, has a larger lower air intake.
At the rear, we are greeted by the rear wing, which is positioned higher on the trunk lid and has a flat form. The triple exhausts placed in the center add a very different air to the new Civic Type R.
Considering that the Honda Civic Si, which has not been long since it showed itself, comes with a manual transmission, we think it would not be wrong to guess that there will be a gear change in the Type R as well. Although there is not much information about the powertrains of the new vehicle, according to rumors, it seems likely that the vehicle will have a 400-hp hybrid powertrain. It wouldn’t be surprising to see an update to the turbocharged 2.0 liter.
The completely refurbished 2022 Honda Civiv Type R is expected to be introduced within the next year.
