You are in New Zealand, you go on pleasant and somewhat challenging nature walks and you have a purpose; Exploring the locations where iconic scenes from The Lord of the Rings were filmed. Photographer Şafak Aslan has been sharing photos like these from New Zealand for a long time.
In fact, some iconic areas such as the ‘Hobbit Village’, which we wandered through in Lord of the Rings, have already been opened to tourism and it is possible to visit these sets. But what Aslan does is hike up the mountains and explore the filming areas, and that’s the kind of job only a true fan would do.
Lots of discoveries in almost two years:
Şafak Aslan, in his own words, resigned in January 2020 and started his New Zealand adventure. Aslan, who is a true Lord of the Rings fan, soon started exploring the areas where the shooting was done. Aslan, who shares pleasant notes about the scenes, characters and the story under the photos, also publishes videos on this subject on his YouTube channel.
