At first, phones that could only make calls and that only did this, are among the devices that keep up with the developing technology the most. In particular, the establishment of operating systems, the invention of new hardware, the emergence of the internet and the realization of social networking platforms have suddenly made phones ‘smart’.

Social media platforms, which completed this process with the flow of their forehead, gained fame all over the world. Millions of people were able to reach people they know and don’t know with a single click. This brought us interesting devices. Here are the phones made for social media…

HTC ChaCha

HTC, which has been trying to recover for a while, can be called the chief architecture of these phones. The Taiwanese manufacturer launched some of the first models with QWRTY keyboards that marked the era. The ChaCha model became one of the popular devices of the period with its large keyboard and 2.6-inch horizontal screen. In addition, the Facebook button on the bottom of the phone provided the opportunity to log in directly to the platform.

Introduced in February 2011, HTC ChaCha had a processor running at 800 MHz, 512MB of RAM and 512MB of storage capacity. There was also a 5 Megapixel camera on the back of the phone.

HTC Salsa

Another HTC model introduced in the same days was the Salsa with a touchscreen. Apart from its features that are almost the same as ChaCha, there was a big change on the design side.

3. A 4-inch screen, 800 MHz Snapdragon S1, 512MB of RAM and 512MB of storage, apart from a small Facebook button. The phone could actually be summed up like this. Also, the not-so-perfect 5 Megapixel camera welcomed us here. The sensor barely gave 24 FPS in 720×480 pixel resolution videos.

HTC One

Proceeding from the touch screen again, the manufacturer removed the physical Facebook button this time. However, it brought with it a much more interesting and, according to some, frustrating feature. Announced in 2013, HTC First had merged Facebook into the system. At least this is how the situation can be summed up.

It was quite natural to see Facebook messages in various areas, especially on the lock screen. The posts and statuses made by your Facebook friends were slides on the First model’s lock screen. Even when you wanted to look at the clock, you could see a friend’s photo in the background.

Motorola CLIQ

Apart from HTC, another company that made a move for social media was Motorola. The CLIQ model, known as DEXT in the European market, was striking with its design. In addition, the phone was introduced long before all the models above. The Motorola model, which went on sale in 2009, had a QWERTY keyboard. However, you could remove this keyboard whenever you wished, thanks to its slide structure.

In this way, the phone blended the touch structure with the keyboard. CLIQ model; MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Photobucket, Picassa and last. It supported FM platforms. The company had also adapted the Exchange supported mail application for the business world to the system.

Three INQ1

Announced by UK-based Three (3) in 2008, the INQ1 was much different from other models. All the phones listed above were smart. However, this device, which was announced as a social network phone, was a classic phone with its button structure. Despite this, it was able to run platforms such as Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, MySpace, Ebay and Skype.

Three’s phone could upload photos to platforms with its 3.2 Megapixel camera, use Facebook thanks to mobile data and make calls via Skype.

Three Skypephones

Internet bills of the period were quite expensive. But there was another, more dire situation; international calls. Even though the use of the internet was economically frustrating for you, calling someone abroad meant staggering money out of your pocket at that time. Looking for a solution to this situation, Three named the other phone he introduced Skypephone.

With its classic look and non-smart operating system, Skypephone allowed you to call anyone with internet for free. This was an invaluable blessing to be able to reach your loved ones abroad.

Vodafone 555 Blue

Yet another phone with a QWERTY keyboard, this time from Vodafone. This model, which was introduced with a design similar to HTC ChaCha, had the Facebook hotkey on the lower right side. Among the widgets on the phone were Facebook shortcuts.

That’s it… Just like today, 10 years ago, social media was indispensable for human beings. This has revealed phones that will never be forgotten, beautiful technologies and indispensable memories for some people. Well, have you used one of the above phones? What devices do you think should be added to the list? You can specify in the comments…
