French automobile giant Peugeot introduced its new car, named E-308, at an event it held. As you can understand from its name; this vehicle is a new version of Peugeot 308. The letter E at the beginning indicates that the vehicle is fully electric. Let’s take a closer look at this car, which will attract attention with its design and technical features.
The Peugeot E-308 is available in two versions. One of them is the electric version of the regular 308. The second version has a station wagon body type and is no different from the E-308 except for the design change.
Introducing the Peugeot E-308
The Peugeot E-308 has a design similar to the 308 in general. The thin headlight design and the grille, which are also used in other models, appear before us as in this model. The lights at the back of the vehicle are also taken from the 308 family of internal combustion. However, the one-piece backlight of the regular E-308 is split into two separate pieces in the E-308 station wagon.
When we look at the interior design of the vehicle, we do not see any major innovations. Peugeot engineers have also preferred the cockpit design they have been using for several years in the E-308. The fully digital display screen and the touchscreen infotainment screen, designed as embedded in the console, appeared as the details that welcomed us in the interior design.
Peugeot used a new generation 400 Volt 51 kWh battery in the E-308. This battery was announced as 80 percent nickel, 10 percent manganese and 10 percent cobalt. According to the company, the E-308 will have a range of around 400 kilometers with this battery, according to WLTP standards. In addition, the engineers who added a driving mode called “Brake” to the vehicle, have enabled the vehicle to charge itself while slowing down with this driving mode. Peugeot says this drive mode will charge the battery from 20 percent to 80 percent in just 25 minutes.
Peugeot officials did not make any statements regarding the price of the E-308. But we do know that this car will be available in the middle of next year and with Allure and GT equipment packages. When the price announcement comes, we will inform you again.
