Stroke, also known as stroke, is a medical condition caused by cerebral vessels. According to the data, hundreds of thousands of people around the world die every year due to a stroke. Scientists are also working to reduce the risks of this very deadly condition, which occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is cut off.
In a new study conducted on the subject, very interesting data were obtained on the risk of stroke. Scientists stated that our blood type affects the risk of early stroke. The study findings were published in Neurology.
People with blood type ‘A’ have a higher risk of early stroke
In their study, the researchers collected data from 48 genetic studies that included nearly 17,000 people with stroke and 600,000 healthy people. As a result of the comparison made in different blood groups, it was revealed that people in group A had a higher risk of having a stroke before the age of 60.
It was stated that people with 0 blood group had a 12% lower risk. Saying that they do not know exactly why the risk is higher, scientists from the University of Maryland School of Medicine stated that this may have something to do with the platelets lining the blood vessels or the proteins that play a role in the blood circulation.
Experts, finally, the increase in risk is quite low; so he emphasized that people with blood group A should not worry. The need for more extensive research on the increased risk of stroke was also included in the statements of the researchers.
