The Pentagon will also work with digital asset data analytics firm Inca Digital for the crypto research project.

According to Adam Zarazinski, CEO of Inca Digital, the firm plans to help the government better understand how blockchain works. With the cooperation realized, it is on the agenda to facilitate the detection of crypto frauds and fraudulent activities.

The project also aims to put an end to the efforts of political regimes that rely on digital assets for illegal activities.

Recently, the US Treasury Department announced that it has sanctioned Tornado Cash for being used for money laundering by the North Korean hacker group.

The US Government has also managed to retrieve some of the Axie Infinity tokens stolen by the North Korea-linked Lazarus Group a few weeks ago.
