In the circular published by the US Deputy Secretary of Defense Kathleen Hick, it was noted that the name of the new unit established was “Air Objects Identification and Synchronization of Management Group”. In addition, it was stated that the new unit mentioned in the circular will replace the “Unidentified Air Events” unit of the US Navy.

In the report published last June, it was stated that 18 of the 21 unidentified objects examined in terms of flight patterns showed abnormal flight and movements.
