Electric car giant Tesla shows the estimated range for each car model on its website. However, the information that this range is an estimate is not emphasized at all in some regions. Therefore, the estimated range can certainly create the illusion that this range is offered.
This is what got Tesla in trouble in South Korea. The South Korean Fair Trade Commission fined the company $2.2 million for Tesla’s ‘deceptive publicity’. Tesla also made the necessary adjustments on its website right after the penalty.

Tesla still keeps this warning confidential in some countries:
When we look at Tesla’s website, we can see that the information that the range is conditional and estimated is still not available in some regions. For example, on the website created for ‘European countries’, the range is presented as if it is a definite value.
It is not yet known whether Tesla will make this arrangement in other countries. On the other hand, Tesla will probably include this warning when it enters our country. This is because the laws in our country require these disclosures to be made.
