Payment giant PayPal has set up an advisory council for blockchain and cryptocurrency.
Members appointed to the council include experts in cryptography, distributed ledger technology, regulation, economics and capital markets.
PayPal executive Jose Fernandez also stated that the Ponte Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) advisory council will support PayPal’s current and future crypto-focused products and advise on broader issues towards creating a digital financial system that works for everyone.
The members of the council established by PayPal are Fortress Investment Group Co-CEO Peter Briger Jr., law professor Chris Brummer, Berkeley Simons Institute Director Dr. Shafi Goldwasser, Timothy Massad, Neha Narula and Antoinette Schoar.
