While the mobile game industry continues to rise day by day, we also see new devices that appeal to this industry. For example, Razer launched a controller called ‘Kishi’ which is compatible with both Android and iOS in 2020. In addition to Razer Kishi, many simple controllers and devices such as Steelseries Nimbus have also appeared on the market.

However, there was a company that has not made a breakthrough in mobile game components recently: Sony. The company, which blew wind in the gaming world with its PlayStation game console, did not seemingly offer a plan for mobile players. But a newly emerged patent shows that Sony is working on a mobile controller just like Razer and Steelseries.

Here is the mobile game controller Sony is working on:

Aiming directly at smartphones, Sony’s patented controller looks like an extended version of the PlayStation controller. The controller hosts the keys on the standard controller and a slot where the phone will come. Apart from this, there is no prominent feature on the controller.

On the other hand, when it comes to Sony and its controller, it is a matter of curiosity whether DualSense vibration motors will also be in the mobile controller. While we’re a little hopeless about this, when we think about the future of mainstream games like PUBG and Wild Rift, it may be possible to add vibration support. In addition, it would not be correct to say that this is only a patent Sony will definitely launch this product.

While Sony hasn’t made a breakthrough in the mobile gaming industry recently, that doesn’t mean it never did. In 2011, the company showed a phone called Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. There was a game controller under this phone, which had a slide design. Although the phone has a design that can attract a lot of attention for today, considering that mobile gaming was limited to productions such as Jetpack Joyride and Temple Run in 2011, and it was thought that its future would be limited to these, it was a phone ahead of its time.
